Why do you not have what you want?

Do you wake up every morning feeling grateful for what you have?
Do you wake up every morning appreciating how far you’ve come?
Do you wake up every morning knowing that you have what you deserve?
I hope you answered yes. But what if it was no?
Is it because you don’t have anything to be grateful for?
Is it because you feel like you’ve gone backward in life not forwards?
Is it because you know you deserve more?
The truth is, life is based on the decisions we make. It’s based on the choices we make. It’s based on what we do next.
If you want to turn the ‘no’ into a ‘yes’ and you want things to be different, then start making different choices. Where you go next is completely up to you.
Let me ask you some different questions.

Do you ever reflect on life?
Reflect on where you want to go?
Reflect on how far you’ve come?
Reflect on what you have right now?
You may have said, all the time, occasionally, never?
Giving ourselves some time and space to reflect is so important. It helps us to be grateful for what we have and what we have achieved. It helps us to feel good about ourselves. It helps us to get ourselves back on track whenever we feel like we’ve lost our way.
And finally.
Have you thought, how did I get here?
Have you thought, where am I going?
Have you thought, I’m never going to get to where I want to go?
These thoughts are part of what I like to call, the observer’s life. An individual who is being swept along by life. An individual who is letting others determine their course. An individual who is stuck on the treadmill of life.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. This is your life and you have the power to determine where you are going and how you get there. Here are my 5 tips that will help you change things.
Visualise
Before you do anything, you need to decide what you want your life to look like. This is your opportunity to dream. To really consider what life will look like for you. What you really want life to look like. No restrictions. No limitations. No constraints.
Choose one thing
Your dream life will have lots of wonderful things in it. However, you can only really change one thing at a time. Plus it is easier to focus on one thing at one time. And you will see more progress than if you try doing lots of things at the same time.
So what is the one thing you want to change right now? What is the one thing that will motivate you to make a change? What is the one thing you know you can change from now?
Plan
If you want to actually make a change you need to have a plan that will guide you to make that change.
I love a plan. It makes my life easier. It actually gives me freedom. It means I don’t have to think. So what’s your plan look like for making your change?

Take the first step
A plan is great but is meaningless until you take action. It’s all about taking that first step, which is the hardest part. That first step gets you one step closer to your dream. It also doesn’t matter what size that first step is. It definitely doesn’t have to be a grand gesture. The important thing is that you took the first step. The rest will then seem a lot easier.
Your tribe
Making a change can be hard but is easier when you’re surrounded by people who want you to succeed. Share what you are doing with those you trust so that they can cheer you on, no matter what your progress is. It’s all about making your life easier.
So you see, where you are today doesn’t have to be where you are tomorrow. You have the power to change things. It’s up to you.
