Five things I’ll do when lockdown is over?

I can’t believe that after more than 100 days, that lockdown restrictions are beginning to ease. I’m still very cautious. I’m not going to jump at every opportunity to take advantage of what we can now do but the thought of being able to do normal things, that have so far not been possible, is quite exciting.
Until lockdown, I really didn’t appreciate the freedom that we have. Simple things, like being able to hug family and friends. Popping out to get a bite to eat or just go shopping. Having my own personal space and not having to share me with my family 24/7.
Like with most things, it’s easy to take for granted the things we have until they’re taken away.
So with this in mind, I have a list of things that I want to do first as the restrictions are easing.

Get a haircut
So I may have taken on the role of the amateur hairdresser and treated my family to DIY haircuts but my mop of locks has been untouched for too long. Well, except for regularly trimming my fringe. I just don’t look right without a fringe. Obviously, hubby has offered to cut my hair. I have politely declined.
The good news is, I’ve booked an appointment. Roll on mid-July.
Hug fest
I know it’s not yet allowed, but as soon as social distancing is removed I will be hugging everyone. Well, maybe not strangers. No offence. I’m naturally a very tactile person. My kids regularly tell me I’m showing them too much love. I can’t help it. I mean who doesn’t enjoy a nice warm hug?
The first lucky individuals to receive one of my awesome hugs will be my parents.
Going out for a special meal
You know I love food and although I enjoy cooking, I enjoy someone else cooking for me just as much. Even more so if it’s at a nice restaurant. So as soon as we can sort out a babysitter, hubby and I will be booking somewhere a bit special.
Get away
They say a change is as good as a rest. Well I, like most people, need a change of scenery. That’s why we’re taking a break. I love my home. I love my neighbourhood. But I now need to see a different set of 4 walls.
We’ll be heading off for a few days. I’m so looking forward to it.
Having a dinner party
Yes, food again. As well as being tactile, I love to show people I care by feeding them. I’m a feeder. So I’ll be having a dinner party. I’m not sure who I’m going to invite. I’m not sure what I’m going to cook. But it will be with awesome people and the food will be delicious.

I know that the road to our new ‘normal’ has only just started but I’m a planner so I love to plan, especially when it’s something nice. And it’s always good to have things to look forward to. It’s good for the soul and it’s good for our mental wellbeing.
