Five reasons why you feel stuck

Stuck

Do you wake up and think ‘is this it?’

Do you feel like you’re just coasting in life?

Do you find yourself switching to autopilot the moment you get up?

If you answered yes, then what you’re actually experiencing is being stuck. You’ve surrendered yourself to whatever will be.

How does that feel?

Does this bring you joy, love and happiness?

I doubt it.

The hard truth is, the only reason you’re stuck is because you want to be stuck.

The good news is, we all get stuck in life at some point. For some people, it’s temporary. For others, it feels like a lifetime. It’s not a nice feeling either way. Feeling like there is no way out. Feeling like life is just happening. Feeling helpless.

The thing is, life is for living not for existing. It’s up to us what happens. It’s up to us how our story plays out. It’s simply up to us.

Shocking!

But why might you be stuck?

Is it because you think you’re too tired?

Is it because you don’t have time?

Is it because you’re too busy?

Whatever the reason, I just want you to know that you have the power to change things. And more importantly, you are the only one who can change things.

Self doubt, think

That’s right. It all starts with you.

Yet I have clients who have given up. Who are allowing themselves to get swept away with whatever comes their way and then they wonder why they are not happy.

So why do we feel stuck?

Here are 5 reasons why you might be stuck

Too tired

You just simply feel tired all the time. Exhausted from life. You find yourself looking at others. Family and friends and you feel envious. You wonder why they don’t feel tired too. Their life seems similar to yours, yet they don’t appear to be as tired as you. You find yourself thinking, if only I wasn’t so tired I’d do something.

You are only tired because you choose to be tired. Like with anything in life, it’s the meaning we give to it that gives it power. Look at it this way, children never seem tired. That’s because they see life differently than us. They are excited about what might happen. What they might get involved with. And so, they literally go on until their bodies say enough.

Not enough time

You haven’t got time to breathe let alone think about what you want. If only you had more time. If only time didn’t fly by. If only, if only, if only.

The only reason you have decided there is not enough time is because that’s what you’ve decided and that’s what you’re telling yourself. If you tell yourself there is not enough time, then guess what? There will not be enough time. However, your time is your time. It’s up to you how you spend it. So, how would you like to spend it?

Too busy

You’re stuck on the treadmill of life and locked into your daily routine. This may be true. But how did you get here? We don’t start life off being busy. We allow ourselves to get busy. It is then up to us to become less busy. To focus on what is important and let everything else go. I invite you to stop doing the stuff that is ‘unnecessary’ and start doing the stuff that is ‘necessary’

Feeling lost

You don’t know what you want. You don’t know where you are and you don’t know where you want to go. Is this true? Do you really not know what you want? Or are you just scared to voice what you want? Are you scared to admit what you want?

The only way to stop feeling lost is to look within yourself and to accept that you have the answer within. Trust me when I say, you do know what you want.

You think this is it

You believe you’ve created your life, no matter that it doesn’t suit you, and so you just need to carry on. The fact is, it’s never too late. You always have the choice to change the direction of your path. To make decisions that best serve you.

Whatever your reason, I want you to know that all it takes to change is you. You deciding that this is not where you want to be. You deciding that it’s time to change. You deciding to take the first step.

The only question you need to answer right now is, are you ready to become unstuck?

If you feel like this, I invite you to ask yourself, is this really what I want?
